Primary Objective:
Responsible for delivery of the company’s products to customers and also the delivery of materials from source material yards to customer projects. |
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver products to customers during the season.
- Perform daily routine vehicle inspection and maintenance.
- Visual inspection of loaded material to comply with the product information on the delivery ticket. Report all discrepancies of any kind to the dispatcher/manager immediately.
- Ensure all freight is properly secured.
- Safely operate truck with moffet, deliver and off-load material.
- Record necessary information for inventory and accounting purposes.
- Accurately fill out and submit daily truck log sheets.
- Clean debris from truck and cab.
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
- Operate Flat Bed in accordance to relevant highway/road
Working Hours:
- Regular working hours, Monday to Friday: 6:00 am-6:00pm (may require starting earlier or later as well as finishing earlier or later depending on customer/company requirements).
- Weekend hours Alternate Saturday & Peak season requires Sunday 6am-2pm (may require starting earlier or later as well as finishing earlier or later depending on customer/company requirements).
Competencies:
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent education.
- 3-5 years related experience.
- Possession of a valid DZ or AZ driver’s license in good standing.
- Ability to communicate (read/write in English language) efficiently.
- Able to read road map book for navigation.
- General knowledge of the Greater Toronto Area.
- Flexible in traveling from one yard to another when required.
- Act in a professional and courteous manner.
- Having your own transportation is a great asset.
